Three Sections of Texas Holdem Poker Rules

Poker rules of Texas holdem are pretty simple that's why it's one of the most popular forms of the game being played. Its format encompasses three sections of Texas holdem poker rules. These are card values, when cards are dealt and winning the pot.

Card values are the first thing one should know about Texas holdem. A deck of cards is used and that's composed of 52 pieces. There are four suits specifically, clubs, diamonds, spades and hearts. There's no special rank among suits and they're specifically used to making a "flush" which will be discussed later on.

There are 13 individually ranked cards per suit. These single cards are valued like so from highest to lowest: ace, king, queen, jack, and the numbered cards from ten to two.

Second, we'll tackle Texas holdem poker rules on how and when cards are dealt. There are seven cards in all and each player's goal is to make the best five-card poker hand after the last bet is made at showdown.

Each player is handed two private cards called their hole cards. Three board cards are revealed at the flop. A fourth board card is shown at the turn. And the last board card is exposed on the river.

After the small and big blinds are posted, players receive their hole cards. After which, betting rounds commence. There are four betting rounds in a complete hand and these are pre-flop, post-flop, after the turn, and after the river.

The third section of Texas holdem poker rules deals with winning pots. If a player is able to force all the others to fold before showdown, that player automatically wins. Otherwise, players still in the pot show their best five-card poker hand to compare with the others. And the player with the highest-ranked poker hand wins the pot.

Hand rankings from lowest to highest are a single high card, a pair, two pairs, trips (three-of-a-kind), straight (five cards in consecutive order), flush (five cards with similar suits), full house (trips and a pair), quads (four-of-a-kind), straight flush, and royal flush (straight flush from ten to ace).

Texas holdem poker rules encompass three sections. One, card values are ranked individually per suit. Two, a total of seven cards, two of which are private and five of which are shared by everyone, is used to make a player's poker hand. These are dealt in sequence at pre-flop, post-flop, after the turn and after the river with betting rounds in between. And lastly, a player can win the pot in one of two ways.
